Collotheca annulata, specimen on the leaf of the Java-moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri). In the book of Koste (1978) this morphotype belongs to the "Formenkreis" campanulata. In contrast to Collotheca campanulata s.stricto this morphotype does not built a housing.

The trophi (arrow) try to grab a Lecane hamata-rotifer (arrowhead), which is trying to escape out of the proventriculus. (50mins later the Collotheca had no rotifer inside and the Lecane was swimming in the sample on the slide)
Collotheca annulata, another, semi-macerated specimen (by SDS for trophi analysis). The arrowheads point to 5 Lecane hamata-rotifers in the proventriculus (Tr: trophi). Also in this case, it appears that the trophi are not able to transport the prey into the stomach because of its size and stiffness of the lorica.
